In 1982, the Kansas City Museum opened the “1910 Drugstore & Soda Fountain”. It was based around the former Kirby Drugstore from Modena, MO and additional artifacts in the Museum’s collections from the same era. Sodas, soda waters, and other soft drinks were a mainstay of the old drugstores, evolving from late 18th c. “medicinal waters” to become summery sweet treats.
