About Carolina
Originally from Spain, Carolina has always been curious about flavors, healthier options, and delicious food. Since she was a little girl, she spent time by her mother’s side in
the kitchen, learning the art of cooking. Her mother, Carola, an extraordinary cook, was always preparing and serving delightful dishes to friends and family. From the traditional recipes of southern Spain to the popular dishes of the Mediterranean coast, Carolina is never afraid to try new recipes and experiment. Always eager to share tapas with friends, her home is constantly filled with guests. She loves sharing her recipes and cooking experiences with others, helping more people cook, eat healthier, and explore new flavors. Carolina has also been sharing her passion for cooking through Thermomix for several years and became a consultant.
About Sister City Association of KC
The Sister City Association of Kansas City coordinates relationships between Kansas City and its 13 “sisters” on 4 continents. Through its individual Sister City Committees, the Association pursues its mission of promoting peace through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation. With decades of educational, cultural, and commercial exchanges, the Sister City Association celebrates Kansas City’s status as a global city. Seville, a city in southern Spain, has been a sister city with Kansas City, Missouri, since 1967 and is an active member of the Sister Cities Association of KC. The members of the Seville Sister City committee actively promote Spanish culture in Kansas City. In the past, they have organized Spanish guitar concerts, tours of Spanish masterpieces at the Nelson-Atkins Museum, wine tastings, among other activities. Recently, they have promoted the Luis Quintanilla frescoes at UMKC and collaborated with the Lyric Opera during the production of Carmen. It is a tradition for the committee members to celebrate the Epiphany every January and to sponsor students who travel to Seville.
