Join the Museum’s Curator of Collections Lisa Shockley for a guided conversation around a plaque presented to Mayor Wheeler by a delegation from Morelia, Mexico as part of the Sister Cities.

In 1973, during the administration of Charles B. Wheeler, Kansas City, MO and Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico became Sister Cities. A delegation from Morelia visited Kansas City in 1977 and presented a copper plaque to the Mayor, commemorating the occasion. Beginning with Seville, Spain (Sevilla, España) in 1967, Kansas City now has twelve Sister Cities.
