Join the Museum’s Curator of Collections Lisa Shockley for a guided conversation centered around two autographed baseballs.

One is signed by the members of the 1942 Kansas City Monarchs, while the other is signed by former Monarchs in attendance at the last MLB game played at Municipal Stadium in 1971.  These were donated to the Museum by Louise Smith, widow of Hall of Fame pitcher Hilton Smith II.

We will discuss these two baseballs, and the multiple ways in which one artifact can be interpreted to tell more than one story.
